Using the skillsbento marketplace

Skills Bento is a plugin marketplace. Each plugin packages one or more agent skills that work in both Claude Code and Codex. You add the marketplace once, then install plugins by name. No manual repository checkout or zip upload needed.

Claude Code

1. Add the marketplace and install a plugin. In Claude Code, enter:

> /plugin marketplace add donvito/skillsbento
> /plugin install devils-advocate@skillsbento

2. When asked where to install, choose Install for you.

3. Use the skill. Plugin skills are namespaced as /plugin-name:skill-name:

> /devils-advocate:challenge-ideas I want to launch a subscription app for freelancers. Challenge my assumptions and recommend what I should test first.

Skills also trigger automatically from plain requests. Run /plugin to see everything available in the marketplace.

Codex

1. Run these in your terminal:

$ codex plugin add devils-advocate@skillsbento

2. Start a new Codex session and ask:

> Use the challenge-ideas skill to review my product idea. What am I assuming, what could go wrong, and what evidence would change your recommendation?

List available plugins with codex plugin list. You can also name a skill explicitly, for example $stock-analyzer analyze AMZN.

Installing more plugins and updating

Swap devils-advocate for any plugin in the catalog, for example /plugin install stock-analyzer@skillsbento or codex plugin add stock-analyzer@skillsbento. To pick up new plugins and versions:

> /plugin marketplace update skillsbento

Codex

$ codex plugin marketplace upgrade

Tips for best results

Be specific about what you want and the output format.
Provide context such as files, exports or background information.
Iterate on the first result, skills respond well to follow-up questions.
